At a park near my house is a memorial for all veterans that have served from the Temecula area. Someone had laid flowers for a fallen solider. I want to thank all veterans, and their families, for the great sacrifice they have given to our great country. While there I met Joe, a World War II vet. Even if you don't agree with the nation's policies, don't forget to thank your service men and women.

So I was taking some portraits for a friend when I saw something glitter in the sun. So naturally I had to go see what it was. The only thing that even resembled its previous life was the door. I liked the contrast between the rust and the sun-bleached yellow paint.

When I asked how old baby Cade was Brad looked at his watch, did a little math, and told me it was 4 hours until Cade would be 9 days old. Someone is excited to be a dad. Little Cade is sure lucky to have loving (and awesome) parents like Brad and Michelle, and he has two guardian dogs who constantly check up on him.

I really liked the light coming through the window. The little bear is a bank I've had since a little kid. Years of coins now prop my door open. Our teddy bear bank pasts, for good or ill, open doors to our future.

I normally hate showing multiple edits of the same photo, but I liked both, such very different emotions.

Went to a Cousin's wedding in Utah. I guess they haven't had much snow this winter and then we go up there and it snowed every night! Despite the chill it was still a lot of fun. Hopefully we'll get to go back up there this summer when its a warmer.

I drive by Reflection Lake on my way to school and I've always wanted to get some photos of it. It has a lot of "worn" things that become great photographing objects.

Macro Monochrome

I've had a really hard time with macro-shots, and I'm still not very happy with this one. The task was to get something that was monochromatic (same colors), and there have been all these pink/white flowers blooming and I had to get it before they disappeared. Got to practice that macro.

A friend's family goes to a local BMX track and invited us along. Luckily Michelle did not take any pictures of me when I went on the course, as I'm pretty sure all the kids beat me without a problem. I'm not sure if I've ever ridden a BMX bike, let alone on an actual course!

I've taken night time shots before, but never FAST night time shots. I used my cameras highest ISO settings, hence the very grainy appearance, to get the shots at a decent shutter speed. After looking at the hundred pictures I got they became something new, something completely different.

I injured my ribs over Christmas and I haven't been sleeping very well. So in the middle of the night I thought of photographing my nephews in a manner that might look something like the professions of their fathers. Here is Carter, who's Daddy is a construction worker.

"I don't know whats going on, I just work here!"

I'm not sure if I would trust this scruffy guy, even if he is super cute and wants to give you a hug.

The only thing boys like more than tools and fun gadgets, girls, and trying to teach them how cool tools and gadgets are.

Daniel wanted to get some pictures of this windmill around my neighborhood. I've shot it before but not with my telephoto to get a close-shot of it. Sadly we were a little late in the day to shoot it as the shadows of the hill had covered it leaving it dark. Maybe next time.

We went to my grandparents in Idaho for some of Christmas Break. They live in the middle of no-where, its so great. Not much snow, but enough for us SoCal kids.

They raise chickens and I loved the pattern on this one.

The newest Carlile member is here, and had to get some one month pictures. We went to old town Temecula, a really cool place. I was really happy with how the pictures turned out and the scenes were so cool. Something about that old brick and wood brings a warm home feeling, what better place then to shoot a family?

Michelle and I went up north to Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. It was amazing! While up there we visited Old Town Colombia. The whole trip was a blast, even if we couldn't breathe going from sea level to 6000 elevation.

Over the weekend I photographed Dan & Amy and some of their family. It got hot really fast, even though we started at 9:30am. It was still a lot of fun and we got some GREAT pictures.

This little spot was almost missed, as Amy and Dan are standing on a little narrow spot right in front of a little stream, but that didn't stop this determined bride!
